| Random quote: "A lot of the people who read a bestselling novel, for example, do not read much other fiction. By contrast, the audience for an obscure novel is largely composed of people who read a lot. That means the least popular books are judged by people who have the highest standards, while the most popular are judged by people who literally do not know any better. New User Posts: 4 ![]() Location: Cypress, TX | This is my first post although I am an avid user of the site. I would like the following 3 books to be added to the database. Earth Has Been Found by D.F. Jones (http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?826835). From the author of the Colossus trilogy, this is best described as a cross between Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Alien. A "Paperbacks from Hell" selection! The Fungus (http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?12149) and Slimer (http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cgi?17059) by Harry Adam Knight. Valancourt Books is bringing these back in print on October 2. The Fungus is an apocalyptic tale in which Britain falls to giant mushrooms! Slimer is a horror tale about people who fall victim to a creature that absorbs its victims. Thank you in advance! I want to add these to my "unloved" and "Apocalypse Now" lists. | ||

Regular Posts: 51 ![]() | Can I request some stuff from this year: Every River Runs to Salt by Rachael K. Jones (Fireside Fiction, 2018) Accelerants by Lena Wilson (Book Smugglers Publishing, 2018) A Glimmer of Silver by Juliet Kemp (Book Smugglers, 2018) Creatures: The Legacy of Frankenstein, ed. David Thomas Moore, writers: Emma Newman, Tade Thompson, Paul Meloy, Kaaron Warren, Rose Biggin (Abaddon Press, 2018) Station Zero by Philip Reeve (Oxford University Press, 2018 - might only be out in the UK so far) In the Vanishers' Palace by Aliette de Bodard (2018 - self published, I think, but hoping this can be added anyway as the author is very well known and this is likely to be on some people's award lists?) Admin Posts: 4103 ![]() Location: Dallas, Texas | Administrator - 2018-10-06 3:35 PM Updated list:
The first 5 books on this list are not genre fiction so I have not added them. I added The Wind in His Heart and a bonus book: Dingo for de Lint. Added Ships in the Night, A Voice in the Night and a bonus collection: Outbound for McDevitt. Also added Space Plague and The Bird King which doesn't come out until March. Sorry it took so long for me to get back to these requests.  I'll get the next batch done over the weekend if possible. | ||
