Random quote: "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - Frank Herbert, Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear, "Dune" - (Added by: Administrator) |

Veteran Posts: 144 Location: Fort Myers, Florida USA | I read Breaking Point, a SF novella by James Edwin Gunn, who isn't listed on WWEnd. Wikipedia says he won the Hugo in 1983 for "Best Related Work" (whatever that is?) He is an anthologist, and a writer about science fiction, and has also written at least some science fiction himself.

Wikipedia says he won the Hugo in 1983 for "Best Related Work" (whatever that is?) He is an anthologist, and a writer about science fiction, and has also written at least some science fiction himself. Gunn is most definitely listed He sometimes uses the E. and sometimes he doesn't but he is a pretty bug name in SF. And probably one of the oldest science fiction writer alive. He won that Hugo for this book . The Best related work category is mostly non-fiction. I'll look into that novella in a bit. Looks like something we want to have in the database.

John Harrison, 'You Should Come With Me Know', published by Comma Press? Thanks. So far it's brilliant btw. It's in. The blurp about a man going missing in his own house brings to mind a Kenchi and Belldandy story in which they accidentally increased the spacial relationships of their dinning room to infinite and were trapped for a time in that infinite space. There's more than one way to end up missing in a house.
