Random quote: It was quite dark when he went by the towers of Tor, where archers shoot ivory arrows at strangers lest any foreigner should alter their laws, which are bad, but not to be altered by mere aliens. - Lord Dunsany (Distressing Tale of Thangobrind the Jeweller)

Who are your favorite female characters, either from the Future History series or the juveniles? Why? And how do they differ from real women, other than the prevalence of redheads? :P

Though I read it a while ago now, I remember really liking Friday, from the book of the same title. It was a stand-alone book, and I really liked how she was the usual sex-kitten that Heinlein did so well, with brains, as he did so well, without inhibitions, as he did so well, but she also had a bit more tough edge from his normal women. She reminds me of Buffy Summers or River Tam. I think I had the most sexual thoughts of Maureen, of all of his women, but I would choose Friday as my favorite.
