There was some discussion about this elsewhere. It's because the award divided into two and the admins aren't sure what to do about it.

In 2012 there was one shortlist with 2 winners, but in 2013 there were two shortlists. I'd probably just list the combined shortlists and both winners, myself, but obviously it's an issue that will continue to apply from now on.

IThe fantasy award was renamed The Robert Holdstock Award in 2009. In 2012 they added The August Derleth award for Horror. Among Others won the Holdstock and The Ritual won the Derleth.
In 2012 the shortlist was combined. In 2013 and presumably going forward the shortlists are separate.

It might be best to treat the existing award as the Fantasy (Holdstock) and create a new BFS Horror Award list (Derleth) from 2012 onwards duplicating the shortlist for 2012 but keeping them separate from then on.
