Member Posts: 36 Location: CA | Alright so I'm well into the first book and, wow, this is going to be either the most innovative movie in recent memory or an awkward flop! I could see Ridley Scott taking over and making this something like a Promethus, or if in lesser hands it might become a Congo reboot at best.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 556 Location: Great Lakes, USA | Wow! Awesome book. I hope whoever makes the movie doesn't screw it up. I've seen too many mediocre movies made from awesome books.

Member Posts: 36 Location: CA | Definitely, apparently the coming books radically change the nature of the story so it is hard to say exactly what the end product could look like. Few details are out so there are a lot of variables that would contribute to the success or failure of a potential movie.

Member Posts: 36 Location: CA | Here are a few more: https://www.kirkusreviews.com/features/read-now-watch-later-science-... SL is right most are clearly more 'conventional' narrative choices. Others like the SRT are not. Apparently The Martian may be getting Matt Damon treatment, if that matters to you. Edited by DrEvilO 2014-04-18 11:41 PM
