Synopsis
This novelette originally appeared in the collection The Line Between (2006), and was reprinted in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, October-November 2006. It can also be found in the anthologies The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year: Volume One (2007), edited by Jonathan Strahan, and The Way of the Wizard (2010), edited by John Joseph Adams.
