Synopsis
Nebula Award nominated short story. It was originally published in the anthology Universe 11 (1981), edited by Terry Carr, and was reprinted in Clarkesworld, Issue 131, August 2017. It can also be found in the anthologies, The Best Science Fiction of the Year #11 (1982), edited by Terry Carr, Nebula Award Stories Seventeen (1985), edited by Joe Haldeman and Drowned Worlds (2016), edtied by Jonathan Strahan.
