Synopsis
The time is the (let us hope) remote future, the protagonist a retired glue-sprayer who lives in a single room of residential block 982. A self-righteous and absurd old monster, Epp spends his time feeding a pot plant with preserved grass-hoppers, spying on his neighbours and writing reports to himself about them. He is obsessed with rancorous memories of one of these - Lem, a dangerous type with ideas for recreating some sense of community in this hive of isolated cells. With appalling diligence, Epp carries on his own curious projects.
