History

The Quantum Science Fiction Series began in 1977 with the hardcover publication of John Varley's first novel, The Ophuichi Hotline. Edited by Analog Magazine's Ben Bova and published internationally, the series continued with Greg Benford's In the Ocean of Night, Gordon R. Dickson's The Far Call, John Varley's short story collection The Persistence of Vision, Spider and Jeanne Robinson's Stardance, Ben Bova's Kinsman, Joan D. Vinge's The Snow Queen, Orson Scott Card's Songmaster and his short story collection, Unaccompanied Sonata and Other Stories. The Dial Press and James Wade cancelled the series in 1982.
