Berkley/Putnam is one of the original names of the Berkley Publishing Group. Part of the Penguin Putnam pulishing group, Berkley began life as the Chic News Company in 1955. They changed their name soon thereafter to the Berkley Publishing Company, and made a name for themselves in Science Fiction community before being bought by Putnam in 1965. Notable Berkley authors include Philip K. Dick and Ray Bradbury.
