History
The Doubleday Foundation imprint was started in 1988, appropriately enough producing "Prelude to Foundation" by Isaac Asimov as one of its first titles. This small press produced between 10 and 20 titles a year before running out of steam in 1993, but in its day it brought us works by Sheri Tepper, Dan Simmons and Elizabeth Scarborough.
