Founded in England during the first half of the nineteenth century, Chapman and Hall published works by, among others, Charles Dickens, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, William Thackeray, and Evelyn Waugh. The publisher has been through a number of mergers and sales, and is currently owned by CRC Press, which uses the imprint for science and technology books.
