History
Lothian Books was first established in 1888 when John Lothian moved to Australia to become the first independent British publishers' representative. A further three generations of the Lothian family has successfully expanded this Australian publisher, now producing over 100 new titles annually. Lothian Books publishes adult non-fiction in such areas as Australiana, biography, personal development and sport; and for younger readers, a growing list of critically acclaimed, award-winning and bestselling picture books, junior and young adult fiction by some of Australia's best-known authors and illustrators. The Lothian publishing list is distributed in Australia and in overseas territories including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, Asia, the Middle East and New Zealand. In June 2001, Macmillan Distribution Services were given the responsibility for customer service and distribution of our titles, enabling Lothian to concentrate on its strengths - publishing, selling and marketing an expanding Australian list.
Specifically interested in books with these subjects or themes: picture books, fiction for 5-8 and 9-12 years olds, teenage fiction, series fiction.
