On the run, she is picked up by the resistance and taken to Ireland after their HQ is found and destroyed, thanks to an insider collaborator. Now with the IRA, she finds an inner strength as she trains with them for the fight, becoming an inspirational figurehead in the process. The national philosophy of Stay Calm and Carry On, as Parliament and the House of Lords are telling citizens to do in an attempt to maintain a false peace with the Visitors, is not the best course to follow when malevolent aliens arrive on your planet to eat you.
