Random quote: When it comes to the point where you occasionally look forward to being in prison on the basis that you might be able to spend a day reading a book, the realization dawns that perhaps the situation has become a little more stressful than you would like. - Julian Assange - (Added by: gallyangel) |

Member Posts: 5 Location: Paris | I was just going through what I have on my Kindle hoping to add the books here, but I'm finding a lot of them aren't (yet). I also noticed that the short story collections I've searched for aren't here either. And what about poetry? I read a LOT of genre poetry... So here is what's missing so far: Brave New Worlds, ed. John Joseph Adams (Short fiction antho) Bradamant's Quest, Ruth Berman Black Bradley and the Mercenary Captain, Nathan Boole Stone Soldiers, C.E. Martin The Ice Owl, Carolyn Ives Gilman Cthulhu Mythos Writers Sampler 2013, ed. Conyers, David Dragon's Fall: Rise of the Scarlet Order, David Lee Summers Eutopia: A Novel of Terrible Optimism, David Nickle The Dulwich Horror 1927 A New Tale of the Cthulhu Mythos, David Hambling The Wildman, Rick Hautala Walk the Fire (1 and 2), John Mierau (short fiction) Things Slip through, Kevin Lucia (short fiction) The Lady Astronaut of Mars, Mary Robinette Kowal Quarter Share; Half Share; Full Share; Double Share; etc. Nathan Lowell Drink for the Thirst to Come, Lawrence Santoro (short fiction) Just North of Nowhere, Lawrence Santoro (short fiction) Monstrosities, Jeremy C. Shipp The Void, Brett J. Talley Rising Shadows, Ashley Townsend The Day after and other stories, Wil Wheaton Let's start there. :-)

I can already tell you Adams is not in the database yet. He is high on my list to add once we get the ability to add authors though. Short fiction can't be added unless it is part of a collection.

Uber User Posts: 1465 Location: The Netherlands | Lots of authors not in the database on this list. I found two that could be added. Eutopia: A Novel of Terrible Optimism, David Nickle The Void, Brett J. Talley Not much but it's a start. The Gilman one is on my personal list as well but the publisher of that particular novella is not in the database yet.

Member Posts: 11 | Please please please take me off the distribution list for updates to this thread. I have unsubscribed on my control panel - doesn't work. I have toggled the e-mail notification at the bottom of this page, but every day it resets to sending me notifications. Not that the updates are bad updates but they fill my phone and interrupt my work all day long. Please take me off the distribution, please! bstittle@hotmail.com

Member Posts: 24 Location: Virginia | Piers Anthony wrote tons of genre fiction, not just Xanth books. I'd love to see the Apprentice Adept series and Incarnations of Immortality series added.

Uber User Posts: 456 | I added the first seven books of Incarnations of Immortality. The publisher for the eighth book in the series isn't in the WWE db, so it can't be added yet (apparently, based on the Amazon reviews, it's so bad that Anthony couldn't find a "real" publisher for it...).

Uber User Posts: 456 | Book eight is Under a Velvet Cloak (2007). Eight Amazon reviewers give it five stars, 22 give it one star, and 39 give it from two to four stars. The entirety of the novel(la) feels as though it were written by Stephanie Meyers, having been told "Do what you've always done, make tons of spelling and grammar mistakes, write it so a 2nd grader doesn't feel challenged but make every single character have sex with every other character. Badly. In the end notes, he acknowledges that the peak of his success was 15 years ago. It is easy to see why after reading this. The first several chapters are essentially a paean to pedophilia. I guess some people will read anything...

Member Posts: 12 | Is there a category for Anthologies? I've recently read a couple of sci-fi anthologies edited by John Joseph Adams (The End is Nigh and Robot Uprisings) but couldn't find a place to review them.

Uber User Posts: 1465 Location: The Netherlands | There are plenty of anthologies in the database but John Joseph Adams hasn't been added yet. He's on the list to be added as soon as the uberusers get the ability to do so however. I've read a few of his myself, he always manages to get a good balance in this anthologies.

Admin Posts: 4005 Location: Dallas, Texas | Sorry for the delays on our end getting the author add/edit function finished. Been traveling for business a lot more lately. More info as we have it. I just added John Joseph Adams. It's bout time we got him in the DB.

Uber User Posts: 1465 Location: The Netherlands | For the people who were looking for them, I just put up 16 John Joseph Adams anthologies. Except for Oz reimagined (the co-editor of that one is not in the database) it should be pretty complete.
