Asimov's Science Fiction (generally referred to as just "Asimov's") magazine was founded in 1977, by Joel Davis of Davis Publications. As may seem obvious, the title of the magazine was an homage legendary Isaac Asimov. Their robust circulation prompted a buy-out by the Dell Magazine Group, which still owns it today.
How to judge their success, and their impact on the world of Science Fiction? One way might be by counting the awards given by their peers: 41 Hugos, 24 Nebulas, plus another 18 Hugo Awards for Best Editor! It's difficult to ignore that degree of recognition!
